Huggy Wuggy is a secondary antagonist of Poppy Playtime, serving as the main antagonist of its first installment, Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze. Additionally, he was featured in Chapter 3: Deep Sleep as a hallucination induced by the Red Smoke, at the end of Chapter 4: Safe Haven as a plot twist and a secondary antagonist, and in Chapter 5: Broken Things as an antagonist in PROJECT: PLAYTIME. He is one of the main characters in the Poppy Playtime franchise.Huggy Wuggy was a toy created and produced by Playtime Co. in 1984. Due to the toy's success in the market, he served as the company's mascot, presumably until its closure in 1995. Like many of Playtime Co.'s other characters, his likeness was used to create an oversized organism under the Bigger Bodies Initiative. This organism was created in 1990 and was Playtime Co.'s 1170th experiment, under the designation of Experiment 1170. The latter served as a security guard for Playtime Co. and was often stationary in the Lobby of the factory, his right arm raised in a gesture that the company referred to as the "Welcome Wave."Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 - Broken Things, also known as Chapter 5: Broken Things, or simply Chapter 5, is the fifth installment of Poppy Playtime. It released on February 18, 2026.
The plot of the chapter continues after the end of Chapter 4: Safe Haven, where The Player has a run-in with Huggy Wuggy, and Kissy and Poppy are imprisoned by Lily Lovebraids. With the help of Giblet and Chum Chompkins, they can finalize their plan to stop The Prototype.
