Teams wake up and move quickly for a 6:30 start line transiting to the final 2 days of the rally. Upon arrival in Glamis, competitors must make a decision between 10 X CPs on the east side of the dunes or 10 regular CPs on the west side. Valuable points are in the X CPs but present higher risk. While Oldsmobile Hill is a favorite amongst drivers, teams who want to be efficient will need to cross the dunes from the washes as opposed to accessing the area via the sand highway.

CPs on the west side are easy to drive and give less experienced teams an opportunity for challenge and the ability to collect CPs but won’t give the same point value reward.

All teams meet up at the 2nd Green CP and then chase the 2nd half of the points in OOO (out of order) CPs. Teams must be cautious not to make assumptions about where points are (referencing a year when teams drove to the swingset without actively navigating and received wide miss penalties. Heading and distance are the key tools of the dunes, as always in navigation. After completing the west side, there is a final CP challenge where teams must plot a decimal degree heading to get the X option.
At the end of the day, teams turn in their 1:50,000 map and self camp in the washes.
