First up, we have the Impact Luxbank Softbox. At 54 inches by 72 inches and priced at just $168, this modifier offers incredible value. With an inner baffle for light diffusion, it’s perfect for achieving soft, even lighting.

Then, we take a look at the Elinchrom Indirect Octabox. This 75-inch beast is an indirect modifier, meaning the light head is positioned in reverse to bounce the light back before it moves forward. Its textured metallic interior ensures even light dispersion, losing only about a stop of light from center to edge. In comparison, the Impact Softbox loses almost two stops of light from center to edge, which can significantly impact your shoots.
