Eight Pakistani soldiers were killed and 11 injured in a coordinated militant assault on Sunday night in Balochistan’s Panjgur district. According to official sources, over 80 heavily armed assailants launched a complex, multi-pronged attack on three separate military checkpoints in the remote Gwargo area, dealing a severe blow to the region’s fragile security environment.
The attackers, believed to be part of a Baloch insurgent group, arrived in 11 vehicles and began the assault by destroying communication equipment at the outposts. This strategic move reportedly cut off the units from backup support, enabling the attackers to lay an ambush for the quick response force that was dispatched to the scene.
