French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Mumbai on Monday night along with First Lady Brigitte Macron on a three-day official visit to India. The French President and the First Lady were received by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Mumbai airport.
During the visit, Macron is set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is likely to discuss artificial intelligence and strategic cooperation. A key focus is expected to be a renewed push for bilateral defence cooperation, including joint manufacturing of helicopters and HAMMER precision-guided missiles.
