Описание: Why are youth more high achieving than ever, but less likely to be involved in politics? This talk will offer unique and insightful solutions to the problem political apathy in youth from a high schooler’s perspective. Last year, Veniece coordinated Fruita Monument's first ever Mock Caucus where she brought in political leaders from both major parties to educate students about the voting process in the U.S. Since then, she has been an advocate for youth involvement in politics through voter registration drives and candidate debate watch parties. She has participated in local campaigns working on engaging the voting population, specifically the youth block. Veniece plans to attend college after high school and major in Political Science.Veniece is currently serving in her Student Council as Student Body President. In this position, she collaborates with many different groups, she is passionate about making school a more friendly place. Veniece is captain of her Speech and Debate Team and Model United Nations Team, she is on the board of Nonprofit Help Light the Night, a board member of the Colorado Student Leaders Institute, and Director of Kindness is Contagious week.
