Rising 600 feet above sea level on the border of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire stands Brill Windmill. Believe it or not, the name 'Brill' literally means 'Hill-Hill' (from the Celtic Bre and Saxon Hyll). This isn’t just any building—it’s a 340-year-old 'Post Mill,' meaning the entire wooden house used to be balanced on a single giant oak post so the miller could rotate the whole thing to face the wind! Today, it sits surrounded by a landscape of strange, grassy mounds—remnants of ancient clay pits—making it look like something straight out of a fantasy movie.
