First, press the command spacebar to open the spotlight search and type disk utility click on it. After going to the disk utility, select the SSD and click on the partition option. So you can now add any other partition that you want. Now click on the plus icon, and the new popup window will open and ask to add a partition or volume, Choose to Add partition option. You can use the pointer to adjust the partition size. Now I will enter the partition size and set the partition name. There are different formats available to select, here select the format as APFS. If you don't want to create a partition then click on the revert button. Next, click on the apply button, So the partition will now be created. Here, resizing the startup volume will cause the computer to stop responding. Click continue. It may take a moment to apply changes to your disk utility and show the operation successful message on your screen. Finally, tap on the Done button. Here, you can see the partition space is around 100 GB.

Here, you will see that your new Partition has been added.

If you can’t create a new partition due to space issues or want to merge with another partition then you have to delete the old partition to use the whole space.

see how to delete the Partition; first, go to the disk utility, here the free size is 74 GB, select the Partition that you want to delete, and click on the partition option. Now select the minus icon and click the apply button, and Choose Partition from the popup window, and the Partition data will be removed permanently. The deleted partition of 100 GB will again be added to SSD 174 GB free size as you see on screen. That's it.
