The beloved Armenian children’s song «Gakavik» (Little Partridge) comes from the poetry of Hovhannes Tumanyan, who wrote the famous line “Sirunik, sirunik, nashkhun gakavik”. Later, the great Armenian composer and ethnomusicologist great Komitas Vartabed arranged the melody, preserving it as part of Armenia’s musical heritage. Today, it lives on as a joyful children’s song, sung and loved by generations. 🎶
