“It’s Fine” is the first song in my 13-song Theatrical Space Opera, currently under the command of T. Spaceman.
This track opens Act I, which is called Denial. The whole show is structured around something called DABDA — that stands for Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. It’s the five stages of grief, and each act of the opera follows one of those stages as a baseline.
So in “It’s Fine,” everything seems okay. The world isn’t falling apart — it’s just “bruised.” The cracks aren’t real — they’re just part of the design. It’s that mindset of convincing yourself nothing is wrong, even when deep down you know something is shifting.
Every act moves through a different stage of DABDA, but this is where it starts — with refusal. With pretending. With telling yourself it’s all fine.
And that’s how T. Spaceman’s journey begins.
