Location: Santa Pod, UK

We're back with a Shmeemobile drag race, and this time it's an Italian supercar up against monstrous American muscle; we've got the Ferrari 296 GTS and Shelby GT500 together at Santa Pod. Taking to the strip and the home of UK drag racing, it's a match-up of Ford vs Ferrari (movie title anyone?) although two very different cars.

First up, let's introduce the car in the American corner, the ultimate version of the 6th generation Mustang; boasting 760hp from a 5.2l supercharged V8. This car is now 3.5 years in the collection and has been drag raced at a number of locations in the US before being imported to the UK nearly 2 years ago.

Next from Italy comes the convertible 296 with a 3.0l twin turbo V6 hybrid boasting a whopping 830hp but with the additional weight of the folding hard top. While only 1 year into ownership, the 296 has cemented itself as quite a favourite amongst the Shmeemobiles.

For the three head to head races, we are joined by Brad - normally on the other side of the camera and editing - but this time piloting the 296 GTS.

It's my first time running a race at Santa Pod, so we are warming up the tyres and figuring it out. However, there are so many different events hosted at the venue, and you can find out more about these here:
