"Adam isn't the only person to enjoy stunting - meet these two ladies - " C/U of two women wearing aviation helmets and goggles. They stand either side of a male pilot. M/S of the women climbing into a biplane. On the side of the plane is a name - difficult to read but could be Don Macdougall. The plane takes off and there is then an air to air shot of them climbing on to the wings of the plane. "This is just getting used to things - the real thrill comes when we dive under a bridge!" They stand on the top wing and the plane flies under a bridge. "Another try - just for luck." The stunt is repeated - pretty scary and impressive - they look pretty close to the bridge! Flashframe of a Pathe News intertitle: "Why change places for a landing?" The plane comes in to land with the women still on the wings.



This is one of the best "wing walking" films we have - great stuff.



Was probably originally an American Pathe News item reedited for Eve's Film Review issue number 522. See digibeta item 764.14 which may include extra shots. Safety print will probably be most complete version.

This story was reedited by Julian Del Guidice in 1999. Was originally split into three sections: "Plane Girls" in EP024, Very Plane Girls from EP214 and Aeroplane Stunt Women from EP024. We believe that all three sections were part of the same original story and Julian has attempted to retain the integrity of the original editing sequence.
