The Braxtons are an American musical group consisting of Toni Braxton and her sisters Traci, Towanda, Trina, and Tamar. Their 1990 debut single, "Good Life," was commercially unsuccessful but led to Toni's solo career. The group reunited in 2011 for the WE tv reality series Braxton Family Values.
Originally from Severn, Maryland, the sisters began singing together as children. They signed with Arista Records in 1989, but after their first single, Toni went solo. The remaining sisters later signed with Atlantic Records, releasing their only album, So Many Ways, in 1996. The group disbanded in 1999 after Tamar left for a solo career.
Over the years, the sisters pursued individual projects in music, acting, and reality TV. They reunited in 2015 to release Braxton Family Christmas, which topped the US Heatseekers Albums chart.
