টানা ৩২ ঘণ্টারও বেশি সময় ধরে চলছে, জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বহু প্রতীক্ষিত কেন্দ্রীয় শিক্ষার্থী সংসদ নির্বাচনের ভোট গণনা । তবে এখনো প্রকাশ হয়নি পূর্ণাঙ্গ ফলাফল। ধারণা করা হচ্ছে, দুপুর নাগাদ চূড়ান্ত ফলাফল ঘোষণা করা হবে। শুক্রবার সন্ধ্যা সাড়ে ৭টায় শুরু হওয়া এই গণনা প্রক্রিয়ায় এখন পর্যন্ত কেন্দ্রীয় সংসদের ২১টি কেন্দ্রের মধ্যে মাত্র ১৪টির ফলাফল প্রকাশিত হয়েছে। গণনার দীর্ঘসূত্রতা ও অনিশ্চয়তায় ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়েছেন শিক্ষার্থীরা। সিনেট ভবনের সামনে অনেকে পাটি নিয়ে শুয়ে-বসে অপেক্ষা করছেন চূড়ান্ত ফলাফলের আশায়।
এর আগে বৃহস্পতিবার সকাল ৯টা থেকে বিকাল ৫টা পর্যন্ত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ২১টি হলে জাকসু নির্বাচনের ভোটগ্রহণ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। প্রথমে ওএমআর মেশিনে গণনার ঘোষণা থাকলেও পরে প্রযুক্তিগত জটিলতা ও ছাত্রসংগঠনগুলোর মধ্যে মতবিরোধের কারণে হাতে গোনা পদ্ধতিতে গণনার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়। এদিকে নির্বাচনে অনিয়মের দায় স্বীকার করে পদত্যাগের ঘোষণা দিয়েছেন নির্বাচন কমিশনের সদস্য অধ্যাপক মোহাম্মদ মাফরুহী সাত্তার।
নির্বাচন কমিশন সূত্রে জানা যায়, বর্তমানে ৯টি হলের ব্যালট গণনা চলছে । দীর্ঘ এই গণনাপ্রক্রিয়া শিক্ষার্থীদের মাঝে উদ্বেগ ও প্রশ্নের জন্ম দিয়েছে—কেন এখনও ফলাফল ঘোষণা সম্ভব হয়নি, এবং এর পেছনে প্রকৃত কারণ কী।
