The My Home My Redditch project is a celebration of the Pakistani community who have settled and contributed to Redditch over the last 6 decades. It documents their personal journeys and experiences: their stories, their voices.
Award-winning Midlands-based artist, filmmaker, director and producer Sima Gonsai (https://www.simagonsaifilms.com/) co-created the film, working closely with the men themselves and The Ansaar Hive. At the heart of Sima's practice is a desire to tell stories, rooted in intergenerational, social and cultural histories.
Reimagine Redditch partnered with Arts Uplift (https://www.artsuplift.co.uk/) to commission and create the film. This project is part of our ongoing engagement with the South Asian community in Redditch. We're committed to telling their stories and celebrating their contributions to the town.
