Here is a bird hatching from egg time lapse video. This is a rare video about bird hatching process in the wild. We set up a bird nest camera live filming in the Siberian rubythroat nest. This a time lapse of bird hatching from egg. Chick hatching is quite a long process, so sometimes we sped up the footage to 3x speed. Here are the live nest cam highlights.
First the bird clears the nest of the eggshell of the newly hatched chicks. Then the third nest begins to hatch. Then the bird warms up her newborn chicks.
Siberian rubythroat (Calliope calliope) is a migratory insectivorous species breeding in mixed coniferous forests with undergrowth in Siberia and Russian Far East. This bird nests near the ground. Siberian rubythroats winter in Thailand, India, Indonesia and Bangladesh. It is an extremely rare vagrant to Western Europe, having occurred on a very few occasions as far west as Britain.
The Siberian rubythroat was previously placed in the genus Luscinia. A large molecular phylogenetic study published in 2010 found that Luscinia was not monophyletic. The genus was therefore split and several species including the Siberian rubythroat as the type species were moved to the reinstated genus Calliope. Calliope means beautiful-voiced in classic Greek. This bird has a beautiful song.
