Nephthys Lady of the Temple, the Egyptian Goddess of Protection

Описание: Nephthys in ancient Egyptian Religion is an Egyptian Goddess whose name means “Lady of the Temple.” Nephthys is one of the Great Ennead of Heliopolis: the Sun god Atum (Ra), Shu, Tefnut, Geb, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys. She is the goddess of protection for the living and the dead. She is the nursing mother of Horus. Nephthys, with Goddess Isis and Anubis, helped to give life back to Osiris.
Goddess Nephthys came to symbolize the assurance of a steadfast companion in the afterlife who would care for and protect the soul, offering reassurance to the living that death was nothing to fear. The afterlife was seen not as an end, but as a new realm where familiar allies, such as Nephthys, would be present to provide guidance and protection just as they had in life.
