While gold prices rose 25%, import volumes fell 18%, yet the overall import bill climbed to $49.39 billion due to higher prices. In contrast, silver surged 46% in price but saw a 56% jump in imports, pushing the bill to $7.77 billion, driven by strong industrial demand. Elevated bullion prices are now adding pressure on India’s trade deficit and impacting investors and consumers alike.

अप्रैल–दिसंबर 2025 के बीच सोने और चांदी की चाल बिल्कुल अलग दिखी। सोने की औसत कीमत 25% बढ़ी तो आयात मात्रा 18% घट गई, लेकिन ऊंचे दाम के कारण कुल आयात बिल बढ़कर 49.39 अरब डॉलर पहुंच गया। वहीं चांदी 46% महंगी होने के बावजूद आयात 56% बढ़ गया, जिससे बिल 7.77 अरब डॉलर हो गया। इंडस्ट्रियल डिमांड ने चांदी को सहारा दिया। इन दोनों की ऊंची कीमतों ने देश के ट्रेड डेफिसिट पर भी दबाव बढ़ाया है।
