There is no outlining. No sketching. No trying to get it perfect before painting.

This bear was built using simple shapes and value. And when the shape reads correctly and the values are in the right place, your brain fills in the rest.

You do not have to paint fur. You do not have to paint tiny details. You only need to suggest the form.

This is one of the most freeing things you can learn as a painter, especially if you have ever told yourself that you cannot draw and therefore cannot paint.

You do not need drawing skills to paint this bear. We build it with shapes, not outlines.
