Donald Trump told the UK he doesn’t need British aircraft carriers, mocking Keir Starmer for wanting to “join wars after we’ve already won” as the US and Israel keep striking Iran.
Trump claimed Britain was considering sending two carriers to the Middle East and said it was “too late”. The UK has not publicly responded, but the MoD confirmed one carrier is on advanced readiness while the other is currently unavailable.
The US is already using UK bases for limited defensive operations, after Starmer initially refused and later approved restricted support once Iran retaliated.
