One of the favorite food of Kerala..
Normally getting from restaurants..It can be made easily at home with available ingredients..
Ingredients :-
Maida 1 kg
Rava 3 table spoon
Salt as required
Sugar 11/2 table spoon
Butter 4. Table spoon
Oil 1 cup
Water aprox 2 cup
Mix maida,rava,sugar,salt uniformly by rubbing
Add water and make dough similar to chapati .
Put the dough on a solid platform and kned it strech and fold way for atleast 15 min.. It is necessary to get the smoothness.
Make 16to 17 balls and add oil in it.
Turn the balls to get the oil spread all over
Keep it for one and a half hour
Take one ball and spred it as we make chapati, but to a vey thin layer
Fold the layer as shown and press it with fingers smoothly to the shape of porotta
Cook it on hot pan and place one over another..Press it with both hands to get the layer seperated.
Your porota is ready to serve...
