🚂 About Jhansi Railway Station

Jhansi railway station has 259 trains passing by every day. Therefore, it is considered a Grade A+ railway station.

It is one of the largest in Central Railway and has its own division of North Central Railway. Thus, it hosts various trains of Indian Railways like the Gatimaan Express, which is the fastest train in India, as well as others like Bundelkhand Express.

In 2022, the station was renamed to Virangana Lakshmibai Railway Station and the station code was changed from JHS to VGLJ.

🚕 How to Reach Virangana Lakshmibai Railway Station

Rickshaws, taxis and tempos are available to various parts of the city from the railway station. A pre-paid taxi and rickshaw booth ensures hassle-free, quick and fair rates to reach anywhere in town.

Buses belonging to the State Transport Corporation as well that are run by private operators can be boarded from the railway station stop to various towns like Khajuraho, Orchha, Gwalior, Datia and other nearby towns.

Jhansi Junction Railway Station has 8 platforms and four broad over-bridges.

Automated Ticket Vending Machine: You can buy train tickets and platform tickets from these ATVMs available next to Platform 1.

Ticket Reservation Counter: Besides the ATVMs, there is a reservation room with multiple counters where you can book your tickets.

Free Internet connectivity and wifi station by RailWire for the first half an hour.

Tourist Information Center: A Cyber cafe, and tourist information offices of both the Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh governments.

Retiring Rooms: Just next to the Help Center, you will find a counter to book retiring rooms and dormitories at Jhansi Railway Station.

Portage: Portage facility is available on all platforms and at all entry-exit points

Refreshment Rooms: There are lots of food outlets here that cater to pure veg and pure non veg guests as well.

Toilets: Next to the VIP Waiting Room, there is a separate toilet for diverse guests as well.

Lifts: All Platforms are connected with lifts.

Escalator: There is an escalator facility on Platform No. 1 on Jhansi Jn and at a few other locations as well
