Mazda MX-5 First Drive: B-Road Destroyer!

Описание: As you may know, I currently own a 2000 Mazda MX-5, but I've never had the chance to drive the new one. That was until earlier this month, when I was able to drive the Mk4, otherwise known as the ND. It's the lightest MX-5 since the original and compared to the Mk3, it's shorter, lower and wider, with more aggressive styling.

So far then, the new model looks to be shaping up rather nicely, but is it able to continue the success that its predecessors have achieved? Well, I had a quick spin in a 1.5 litre Sport Nav model to see what's what. This engine produces a modest 129bhp with 150Nm, and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

0-62 happens in 8.3 seconds and the top speed is 127mph. If you want more power though, then you can look at the more powerful 2.0 litre engine, which produces 158bhp with 200Nm of torque. This shaves a second of the 0-62 time and the top speed is 133mph.
