Hello everyone and welcome to @AutoScholarwithMrB ! Today we are looking at a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu SS with a P2070 and reduced engine power warning.
When diagnosing this issue, we need to check the wiring and fuse that supplies the intake tuning valve, or intake runner control motor, with power and operation signal. I have included all steps on how to check this and the proper pin outs for the connector.
If you are using shopkey wiring diagrams, there is a mistake on pin A and B, so keep in mind that pin B is GROUND and pin A is 12v POWER.
The final repair on this vehicle, which was a faulty tuning motor, is a fairly straight forward repair. You will have to remove the power steering pump to access the motor for removal.
