In this lecture, we study the Spring–Block System from the chapter Simple Harmonic Motion (SHM) for Class 11 Physics, strictly aligned with the syllabus of JEE Advanced and NEET.
The session explains how a block attached to a spring executes simple harmonic motion, starting from the restoring force and leading to the derivation of angular frequency, time period, and displacement equation. We analyze the dependence of the time period on mass of the block and spring constant, and discuss why the time period is independent of amplitude.
You will also learn how to solve numerical problems based on single and multiple spring–block arrangements, including concepts like effective spring constant, energy exchange, and constraints applied to the block.
