She was formerly the Israel Defence Force's top legal adviser, but Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi is now in police custody after she admitted to authorising the leaking of a video back in August 2024. It showed the alleged abuse of a Palestinian detainee by soldiers in an Israeli prison.
