Several years ago we bought an AcuRite Weather Station that was branded for Bass Pro Shops. Within a year the rain sensor stopped working. Soon there after the humidity was always 100%. It was great while it worked, and utterly worthless once it didn't.

So, getting away from department store branded machines Jennifer bought me a Davis Vantage VUE Weather Station. Davis makes some pretty high end stuff, and this is actually their economy model, despite being 3x the cost of the AcuRite Weather Station.

It is the quality and accuracy that matter, so the investment is expected to be well worth it.

We also built our own DIY Eave Antenna Mount, also known as a Gable End Mount. We did this because of the very shallow pitch of the roof. A pre-made 5' long Eave Mount just wasn't going to do it for our needs.

Instead I used a 12 foot long 2x4, which provided much better stabilization for the mast.
