Our journey on the GR131 Fuerteventura trail continues as we leave Lajares and walk through the Malpais de Arena with its stunning lichen covered volcano to the historic town of La Oliva, before heading towards one of the island’s most remarkable landmarks: Tindaya Mountain.
For the indigenous Mahos people, Tindaya was sacred ground. Hundreds of ancient carvings still mark its slopes, aligned with the sun and stars, carrying whispers of a culture long before our time. Even from the trail, you feel its presence rising out of the plains — a mountain of stories as much as stone.
