Origin, in indian history we finds the discription of sadhus and there different forms like aghori and naga sadhu. Both are same but the story behind there origins have lot of variations. There are two famous stories behind the origin of naga sadhus,which are as follows, In old period nearley in 5 C.E. there is a famous saint name Mahamuni Adi Shankracharya or Adi Shankara people use to say that he was immortal person and has supernatural powers. In this period India has also looted many time and many temples were destroyed, to stop all this nuisance Mahamuni Adi Shankracharya created group of persons whose work is to only save temples. this group of people come to known as nagan sadhu and later pronounced as naga sadhu.
