The U-N refugee agency has sent a team to investigate reports that Serb tanks were rumbling toward a camp of ethnic Albanian refugees in Kosovo, a possible threat to a
peace deal for the province.
The U-N-H-CR team has gone to Kisna Reka, where 3,000 refugees live in a makeshift camp in the mountains, to see if it is true that Serb forces advanced on the area last night.
The agency had heard unconfirmed reports of widespread shelling during the night.
The reports of military activity near the Kisna Reka refugee camp appeared connected to the movement of Yugoslav army tanks and other armoured vehicles near the site of a deadly attack on Serb police.
