Hi friends! It's Danie Steel here and I want to touch on an important topic of getting on with life after losing your parents to the crack cocaine epidemic that plagued the black community in the 80's and 90's. This is something that many people have had to deal with combined with America's villainous portrayal of these people and the lack of treatment and rehabilitation offered to those suffering from the addiction. The crime bill Clinton passed during this time not only ensured life would be very difficult for those addicted but the lives of their children would be forever shaped by how this epidemic was handled. If your life was affected by this it may be hard to even address the topic but we're going to start talking about the things that need to be talked about and this is definitely a pertinent topic. Did you grow up with drug addicted parents? How has that shaped who you are today? Leave your thoughts in the comments section. I look forward to hearing from you and working through this with you. All power to the people.
