Sometimes, all the chart success and even the backing of the biggest and most influential band in the world isn’t enough to create real, emotional wealth. The musicians we’re going to look at today were victims. They were victims of greedy, thieving managers. But, more importantly, they were victims of their own demons, self doubt and misplaced blame. They were a band who’d experienced the highest of highs in the late 60s and early 70s; signed by the Beatles’ own label, Apple Records, a string of top ten hits and a titanic standard Ballad that has been covered hundreds of times, Badfinger was on top of the rock world, even being called “The New Beatles.” But the business side of the music industry would constantly frustrate and chew the band up and spit them out, ending with one of the saddest endings in rock history.
