🎸 Guitar cover of “Distant Skies” by Stratovarius.
I still remember back in 1994 when I bought the CD of a then unknown Finnish band.
It was their third album, “Dreamspace”, and two things immediately caught my attention:
the presence in the lineup of a member playing keyboards and computers, and the fact that part of the album had been recorded at the University of Helsinki.
At that time I was attending university in Italy, and the idea of a band being allowed to record music inside a university felt almost unbelievable to me.
That curiosity turned into admiration, and Stratovarius quickly became one of the bands that shaped my musical journey.
This cover is my personal tribute to that era and to a song that still feels timeless.
