You may have heard that MassHealth—the Massachusetts state Medicaid program—has restarted its eligibility redetermination process for members to ensure they are still eligible and receive the best benefit they qualify for.

While most MassHealth members will still qualify for that coverage, hundreds of thousands of Massachusetts residents will need to act to avoid a gap in coverage.

If you recently lost MassHealth coverage, there's good news.

You may be eligible for health insurance that meets your needs through the Massachusetts Health Connector.

The Health Connector is the state’s health insurance Marketplace.

It is the only place qualifying individuals and families can get help paying for insurance to lower their monthly premium cost.

To avoid any gaps in coverage, it's important to act now and stay covered.

Here's what you need to do:

Step one: Check your eligibility.

Visit the Health Connector website at MAhealthconnector.org or call customer service to find out if you qualify for coverage.

Step two: Compare insurance plans.

Once you know you're eligible, compare different plans from multiple insurance carriers on the Health Connector website or with free help from an Enrollment Assister near you.

Step three: Enroll in a plan.

Choose the health plan that best fits your needs and budget and enroll online or by phone before your MassHealth coverage ends.

Remember that Massachusetts law requires residents aged 18 and older to have health coverage or may face a tax penalty.
