The Path Bible Study (Week One)

Throughout the Bible, there is the theme of our "Walk" with the LORD and the Path that we are on.

I love the imagery that this brings to mind. Our relationship with God is not, or should not, be stagnant. It should be active.

"The Path" conveys God's sovereign wisdom:
Proverbs 3:6
in all your ways know him,
and he will make your paths straight.

"The Path" tells us our need for submission to it:
Proverbs 4:26
26 Carefully consider the path for your feet,
and all your ways will be established.

"The Path" sends us the message about evil and righteousness:
Psalms 1:1-2
​1 How happy is the one who does not
walk in the advice of the wicked
or stand in the pathway with sinners
or sit in the company of mockers!
2 Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction,
and he meditates on it day and night.

God's good Path for us holds promises of life in relationship to Him:
Proverbs 10:17
17 The one who follows instruction is on the path to life,
but the one who rejects correction goes astray.

There are countless other references to "The Path" in the wisdom literature and prophecy of Scripture.
"Walk" became a title for how we follow God's teaching in many epistles from Paul and John that they received teachings from.

We will not dissect any one passage or book of the Bible, but we will go over the connected narrative of Scripture and you will learn how to follow God's Path for you.

This will not be a 6 or 8 week curriculum. However, if you are diligent, in a few months, you will see Scripture in a whole new light and always be on a path where you can uncover more and more treasures. I hope to provide many tools for your toolbox in personal study so that you can stay on The Path and grow in your Walk with the LORD.
