Описание: Here’s our version of Nuilersup Qilaap Seequinersuata, from the latest album “Handmade tales”, along with a collection of memories from Greenland.
Many thanks to Per Jensen for introducing us to this beautiful song, written in 1935 by Hans Egede, a poet, painter and sculptor originally from Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. Although the original version was written in Greenland’s native language, many years later, Poul Dissing fell in love with Greenland and wrote some extra verses in Danish. We’ve been lucky enough to tour in Greenland three times now, and felt compelled to record this lovely song, having also been deeply affected by Greenland’s magic.
Here’s a translation of the lyric from Greenlandic and Danish into English:

When the radiant sky of the dawning sun awakens,
It calls to the tiny birds,
“Quicken your little wings and soar!”

Verse 1:
I must leave before the sun goes down;

We must each go our own way;
