Описание: Happy 40th anniversary to my personal favorite John Hughes movie Pretty in Pink! While others adore The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, I enjoy this one most. One of the reasons being not just for the amazing comedic king Duckie, or the great suburban setting, or the grand prom scene, but specifically the insanely amazing soundtrack. Ranging from The Psychedelic Furs (from whom the movie title was named after), New Order, The Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen, Nik Kershaw, Suzanne Vega, and more, there was always one song that wasn't on the soundtrack yet was featured in the movie, that being Rudy by the California group Talk Back. This band was featured as Molly Ringwald (Andie) was a fan of theirs and would attend their local shows. And so, in the first club scene of the movie, they are playing the song which is ska/punk inspired. What I liked most about it was the bass, so I took it upon myself to learn it by ear as obviously this is a very obscure song which only has like a minute or so of play time in a 40 year old movie, but luckily, the band re-recorded it in 2020, so more clarity can be brought on the instruments and just for general enjoyment for people who have ever dreamed of hearing the full song, but never knew how or where to look. I mixed both the re-recording and the movie version to get the best sound from both atmospheres, and it just makes ms think how well the singer's voice has held up after all this time. I'm probably the very first person to cover this song, so enjoy this occasion! (also, notice the pink highlighter lol)
