The Taiping Rebellion (Part 1: The Divine Vision)

Описание: The first part of a documentary series on the Taiping Rebellion, the deadliest civil war in human history and the second deadliest war of all time after the Second World War. Spanning the years from 1851 to 1864, the Taiping Rebellion would end up consuming the lives of an estimated 20 to 30 million people. The war would irrevocably cripple the Qing Dynasty and its centralized authority paving the way for the chaos of the warlord period and the struggle between communist and nationalist forces in the first half of the 20th century of Chinese history.
