Simple Set-And-Forget solution to water running from the front of the freeze dryer.
A simple piece of 18" long (for my medium Harvest Right Freeze Dryer. Yours may vary) of 1/2" aluminum angle from your favorite hardware store.
The chamber is at a slight tilt to the back, so all the melting ice will easily drain properly if it can reach from the front of the chamber to the back where the drain hole is located.
However, as we all know, the function of the chamber walls ceiling, and floor is to gather the moisture from the food and safely freeze it out of the way.
And that means that along the bottom of the chamber an ice dam will occur.
Preventing the water from running out until the bottom of the chamber has melted enough to allow the water to pass to the back.
Many suggest 'fixes' for this situation.
All involving extra actions EACH AND EVERY time you run a batch through the Freeze dryer.
Do what you're comfortable with, but I resist the trend of wedges, jacking, lifting, air pumping, etc. to tilt my freeze dryer.
Manufacturer installation instructions specifically state to install it on a LEVEL surface.
Oh, and if concerned about adding a piece of aluminum to the bottom of your machine, then remember that the entire tray rack is made from aluminum,
