We made our way to the Sedona Chapel of the Holy Cross from the Little Horse Hiking Trail. The chapel is a Roman Catholic place of worship, attracting millions of visitors and pilgrims each year. It is a place of beauty and peace known as one of America’s man-made wonders.

The chapel was completed in 1956 and is built to a twin pinnacled spur, about 250 feet high, jutting out a thousand-foot rock wall.

Inside, there is an impressive and beautiful cross with Christ at the windows, which overlook the valley below.

The Chapel was created by architect Marguerite Brunswig Staude in 1956. In 2007, Arizonans voted the Chapel to be one of the Seven Man-Made Wonders of Arizona. In 2008, the Sedona Historic Preservation Commission designated the Chapel of the Holy Cross as a Local Historic Landmark.

The chapel hosts adoration, mass, and Taizé Prayer – check the chapel website for times during your visit.
