আহসান মঞ্জিল ঢাকার বুড়িগঙ্গা নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত একটি ঐতিহাসিক স্থাপনা, যা একসময় ঢাকার নবাব পরিবারের আবাসস্থল ছিল। উনবিংশ শতাব্দীতে নির্মিত এই প্রাসাদটি তার অনন্য স্থাপত্যশৈলী ও গোলাপী রঙের জন্য “ঢাকার গোলাপী প্রাসাদ” নামে পরিচিত।

এই প্রাসাদটি মূলত ফরাসি স্থপতির নকশায় তৈরি হয়েছিল এবং এতে ইউরোপীয় ও মোগল স্থাপত্যের সংমিশ্রণ দেখা যায়। এক সময় এখানে রাজনৈতিক সভা, গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সামাজিক অনুষ্ঠান এবং নবাব পরিবারের নানা কার্যক্রম অনুষ্ঠিত হতো।

বর্তমানে আহসান মঞ্জিল বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় জাদুঘরের অধীনে একটি জাদুঘর হিসেবে সংরক্ষিত। এখানে নবাব পরিবারের ব্যবহৃত আসবাবপত্র, পোশাক, ও ঐতিহাসিক নিদর্শন প্রদর্শিত হয়। এটি এখন ঢাকার অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় পর্যটনকেন্দ্র, যা ইতিহাসপ্রেমী ও দেশি-বিদেশি দর্শনার্থীদের কাছে আকর্ষণের কেন্দ্রবিন্দু।

Ahsan Manzil – The Pink Palace of Dhaka

Ahsan Manzil, popularly known as the Pink Palace, is one of the most iconic historical landmarks in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Located on the banks of the Buriganga River in the Kumartuli area of Old Dhaka, it served as the official residential palace of the Nawab family of Dhaka.

The construction of Ahsan Manzil began in 1859 and was completed in 1872 under the supervision of Nawab Abdul Ghani, who named it after his son, Khawaja Ahsanullah. The building’s striking pink color and Indo-Saracenic architectural style make it a symbol of the grandeur of 19th-century Bengal aristocracy.

Throughout history, Ahsan Manzil was not only a royal residence but also a political and social hub where important meetings and decisions were made during British colonial rule. After the decline of the Nawab family, the palace fell into disrepair but was later restored by the Government of Bangladesh.

Today, Ahsan Manzil stands as a museum, showcasing artifacts, furniture, and portraits from the Nawabi era. It attracts both local and international visitors, representing Dhaka’s rich cultural and architectural heritage.
