누가복음 2:7 첫아들을 낳아 강보로 싸서 구유에 뉘었으니 이는 여관에 있을 곳이 없음이러라 (개역개정)

[Feeling at Home 내 집처럼 편안한]

If we believe in Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour, we begin to feel at home with Him rather than with a stranger. Jesus came into our world bringing a peaceful, homely atmosphere.

Some people misunderstand the story and think that Mary gave birth to Jesus in a humble roadside inn, or that He was born outside among animals. But in Luke 2:7, the Greek word often translated as “inn” actually refers to a guest room in a normal house, not a commercial inn. The manger where the baby Jesus was laid suggests that people were living in close contact with their animals, such as cattle, sheep, or goats, which were often kept in or near the house. 1)

Jesus was welcomed by unexpected people like the shepherds and the magi, even though they had not previously known Him personally.

When we believe in Jesus, we discover that He is very familiar and close to us, not distant or unknown like a stranger.
