Long story short...

-- Punching & Fist Weapons = Fast short range attacks vs single target.
-- Staff Weapons = Slower long range attacks vs multiple targets.
-- And then there are gadgets with a variety of effects.
-- And alchemy to bestow combat bonuses.
-- And also some weapons have non-combat uses (e.g. wall-crawling).
-- Oh, and tools do bonus damage against relevant creature types.
-- And lots of different kinds of armour can be crafted. Disguises, too.
-- Bombs are also a thing.

So, in summary, there's a lot to discover and ultimately use the beat the living crap out of things!
