DAYTONA USA - Featuring Days of Thunder - "Let's Go Away" by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi

Описание: Hot off the success of SEGA's Virtua Racing arcade, its AM2 division looked to create another hit racing title, this time with fully texture mapped polygons that would shock the world!

During his research for the creation of SEGA's Daytona USA coin-op, game planner Makoto Osaki purchased a sports car and watched the NASCAR film Days of Thunder more than 100 times!

AM2 ultimately captured that raw energy, speed and adrenalin of the motorsport and the film it inspired, and despite the early obstacles that Saturn game development posed, they also succeeded at creating a Saturn port that was faithful to the arcade original in terms of gameplay!

While the arcade version captured my heart, it was the Saturn version that cemented my love for this game and for the SEGA Saturn! Here I present a tribute to Daytona USA on SEGA Saturn in the form of a music video that attempts to capture that raw energy from Days of Thunder that Osaki-san was so inspired by... I hope you enjoy it!
