Описание: Dr. Ramsay challenges dominant representations of refugees as objects of humanitarian intervention. Discussing how contemporary responses to refugees, particularly in the wake of the "European refugee crisis," often serve to bring refugees into hierarchical power relationships in which the opportunity for protection requires that they become embedded in exploitative labor markets. Dr Georgina Ramsay is a socio-cultural and politico-legal anthropologist. She follows a teaching and research agenda that focuses on social justice, critical thinking, and transformative futures. Her work focuses on refugees, citizenship, displacement, violence, and humanitarianism.
