Moe Yang speaks on how Micro-aggressions, racism, homophobia, and Islamophobia, are still deeply rooted in our communities in Canada and even more in the US. But by creating films with diversity, we have the power to change that.
Moe is a photographer and filmmaker located in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Her work has been featured in publications such as Rookie Mag, Yahoo News Japan, and The Photographic Journal and her films have screened in the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and the Vancouver International Film Festival. As an artist of colour, activism is an equally important part of her life and she hopes to open people’s mind through her work. In both her films and photography, she focuses on capturing and telling the stories of people whose voices are usually silenced.
