Over 100 young musicians from Cavan, Monaghan, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Scotland and Ukraine have joined forces to create the Music Generation Cross Border Youth Folk Orchestra. It is led by Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan.
The young musicians have musical backgrounds in classical, trad, rock/pop and folk music. Their premiere performance takes place in November 2023. We popped into their rehearsals to chat with the young people about their experiences and find out why they joined this unique project.

‘The Deep Ravine’ project is led by Music Generation Cavan Monaghan and commissioned by Monaghan County Council and Cavan County Council. It is funded by The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media under The Community Strand of the 2023 Decade of Centenaries Programme and Creative Ireland Programme 2023 in partnership with @musicgenerationcavanmonagh804 #musicgeneration
