Tamil Nadu, the Integrated Land Record (ILR) is a unified digital document that combines multiple essential land records into a single, accessible file.Traditionally, landowners had to collect three separate documents to verify their property: the Patta (ownership), Chitta (land classification), and FMB (map).
The ILR project, launched by the State Revenue and Disaster Management Department, merges these into a consolidated record to simplify property transactions and reduce paperwork.
What’s Included in the Integrated Record?
The ILR brings together four critical pieces of information:Patta: The primary legal document proving ownership, containing the owner's name and patta number.Chitta: Details about the land type—specifically whether it is Nanjai (wetland/irrigated) or Punjai (dryland).Field Measurement Book (FMB): The sketch or map of the land parcel showing its exact boundaries and survey dimensions.Adangal: A record of land usage, including what crops are grown and the current status of the land.
Why It MattersTransparency: It prevents fraud by showing ownership, boundaries, and land type in one place, making it harder to manipulate individual documents.Ease of Access: You can download the integrated document from the official Any Patta / Chitta portal without visiting a Taluk office. Loan & Sale Processing: Banks and buyers can verify the entire "health" of a land parcel using a single ID (Survey Number or Patta Number). Real-Time History: The system is increasingly being linked with Patta Transfer History (similar to an Encumbrance Certificate), showing online transfers from 2016 on wards.
How to Access It You can view and download these records through the official TN e-Services portal:Website: [suspicious link removed]Required Details: You will need the District, Taluk, Village, and either the Survey Number (with Sub-division) or the Patta Number.
