9. SOUNDBITE (Greek): Christos Chitis, President, Agios Nektarios Fishermen's Association:
"Now we are in a good period, because people have come here for their holidays. Of course they eat fish, they like fish. And it is easier for us to sell them. But by the end of August things will change. It will be very difficult, and if the lockdown continues, what will the outcome be? Because the costs continue, aside from our families, we have to maintain our boats. Everyone has their own problems. There are fishermen who are quite old - they have small or no pensions. They can't work. All of this creates a serious problem. But at least there was a benefit given and another one will be given from the state."

13. SOUNDBITE (Greek): Stavros Koutsoukos, fisherman:
"There is a big difference from the 1960s that I remember to now, that is to say 60 years. It is a big difference. In the old times we were using just one piece of net and we were catching four times more fish than now. Now with all these nets here it's just three or four kilogrammes of fish. It's a big difference, but what can we do? We can't do anything else to increase the numbers."

18. SOUNDBITE (Greek): Athanassios Tsikliras, Associate Professor, Laboratory of Ichthyology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki:
"The reduction of the fishing activity was important because we believe that it will lead to an increase in biomass of fish over the next one to five years, depending on the species. That means that all shorter-lived species such as anchovies and sardines, are likely to experience an increase of biomass in the next months or year. While the species that live longer will see the increase of their biomass in the next three to four years. The good timing with the quarantine is that it coincided with the breeding period of fish and especially the period of their maturation period, which allowed them to be reproductive in May and June. This period is very beneficial for fish because it has protested the reproduction ability and that means that more fish will be born and grow during this period."
