Our client - Pidilite Industries Ltd. has been a pioneer and leader in consumer and speciality chemicals in India. They planned a greenfield plant in the southern region of the country. This plant is envisaged as the most modern plant with the cognizance of Manufacturing 4.0, End Of Line Automation and Automated Intralogistics Solutions. The plant is an integrated facility with a production block and warehouse storage along with the material movement from warehouse to ground/multiple floors.

The client wanted to optimize storage capacity in the given footprint available and handle higher throughputs out of the growing business needs. Godrej Körber Supply Chain Ltd designed, manufactured and delivered fully automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) for 9500 pallet storage and 5 SRMS for RM,PM & FG. The AS/RS uses peripheral equipment like Conveyors, RGVs (10 RGVs 200m loop) and Pallet Auto Lifts. The Warehouse Management System is integrated with the client’s SAP-EWM and MES. The system is designed and installed to meet their next 5 years' requirements and they are storing the material in 1/10th of the total area.

This project was executed within the stipulated time despite COVID challenges.
